To ensure MacOS Capability, its always a good way to format your pen drive or external hard drive. The way to pen drive in Mac OS is not similar to how you normally would format in Windows Operating System. First step is obviously to plug in your pen drive.
Generally the pen drive would be read automatically. You can open you Finder window and you would see the name of the pen drive on the side bar.
How for format your USB drive in Mac OS?
1) Open App drawer. Type in “ disk utility“. Open Disk Utility Program.
2) In the side pan, under the External Drive section, Right click your pen drive.
3) In the right menu, choose Erase.
4) In the new dialog box, choose the type of file system and click on Erase.
Plugging in the USB flash key to a Mac will generally read and work fine as is because the Mac can easily read other filesystem formats, including Windows MSDOS, FAT, FAT32, ExFat, and NTFS formats, but unless you intend on using the drive between a Windows and Mac machine, formatting it to be entirely Mac compatible filesystem is highly recommended, and necessary for Time Machine and to make disks bootable.
